LOCAL INTEREST
Whilst staying in this area there is much to see and enjoy, as much or as little as you like. Asnois itself has a lovely Ayre (park) beside the river with an area for children, BBQs and picnic tables all free and very clean (including the toilet facilities).
The nearest market town of Charroux, steeped in history and home to the amazing abbey ruins is just 10 minutes away with 3 bars, a hotel/restaurant, boulangeries, chemist and a market each Thursday morning. Throughout the year there are many events on – i.e. August, painting in the street, September – the Foire au Vin.
Other larger market towns are within 30 minutes away, along with a choice of supermarkets. Confolens has its music festival in August. I’lle Jourdain has watersports and bungee jumping. But if you want something more exciting then visit Poitiers for Futuroscope – open all year round or watch car racing around Angouleme in September.
And don't forget paintballing at Gopaintball at Beauregard www.gopaintball.fr
